The Ham Challenge Day 3- New years day Chorzo, ham and lentils

Happy New years to everyone who read's my blog (There's not that many of you, but hey you exist!).  This afternoon I cam up with the most insane idea.  Combining similar ingrediants to paella, replacing the rice with lentils.  VERY GOOD IDEA.  Most insane lentil dish I have ever made.

Ingredients

250 grams of dried lentils
1 large chorizo sliced
as much ham as you would like cubed
1 large Spanish onion
1 tin of crushed tomatoes
1/2 a teaspoon of smoked paprika
 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 glass of Sav Blanc

Method

Add the lentils to some boiling water on the stove top.  Keep try the lentils as you go to see if they are cooked it takes just over 20 mins.  Once cooked drain the lentils and set aside.

Pour your self a glass of Sav Blanc (you need it, you work hard!!).

Fry onions till soft.  Fry the chorizo and the ham together till chorizo is cooked and the ham is fried.  Combine the onions to the chorzo and the ham.  Cook for a few mins and add the Cayenne pepper and the smoked paprika fry for another min then add the tinned tomatoes and put on a medium heat.  Add the lentils and turn up high till all the extra water has evaporated.  Ad salt to taste.

DONE!

*** UPDATE*** this was 10x better the next day.
