If you ever come to Otago for whatever reason, you should consider doing a food and wine tour through Tasty Tours. It is a decadent day of food and wine that really is beyond anything you could probably organise yourself. Janine the owner started the company with a passion for food and wine, saw a gap in the market after organising her own hens night in Central Otago. She discovered that there was no Central Otago tour company that offered a high end service operating out of Dunedin . (TALK ABOUT AN OPPORTUNITY!) So that is how it was born.
The whole day was amazing, Janinne's local knowledge and attentiveness to every passenger was amazing! All I can say is we will be back! (and we are locals!)
The team and I are booking another one for the end of the year and the Oamaru food and wine festival next year- We are all very excited!
Highlights:
Pasquale Gewurtztraminer 2011
Ostler Rose
Ostler Pinot Gris (all of them)
The Ostler tasting its self, Great Wine presentation
Actually, all of the Ostler wines were amazing....
Whitestone Aged Moraki bay Blue
Whitestone Dunston Goats milk cheese
Birdlands Pinot Noir
The salami on the plater at Kurow Winery
The Plum Chutney on the platter at Kurow Winery.
The scenery right through out the day
